What is the program?

The Shikha Cambridge International Diploma in Teaching and Learning (CIDTL) Program is a transformative 2-year program designed for educators driven by a mission to revolutionize the education system. This full-time program is offered free of charge and includes a stipend, ensuring that passionate teachers can focus entirely on their purpose: to learn with curiosity, practice high quality teaching, and improve the educational landscape for future generations.

Our program equips teachers with the essential skills needed to create dynamic and impactful learning environments. Participants will explore student-centered teaching methodologies, data visualization techniques, project-based learning, and gain a deep understanding of cutting-edge educational technologies.A key feature of the diploma is the emphasis on practical experience. Teachers will engage in continuous hands-on teaching at our progressive lab school, Shikha Academy, serving as teaching assistants throughout the program. This immersive experience allows educators to apply their learning in real-time, refining their skills and strategies, earning a stipend while pursuing the diploma. While our program goes beyond merely acquiring a degree for better job prospects, exceptional candidates will receive the opportunity to join Shikha Academy and the Shikha Institute on completion of the program.

EARN WHILE YOU LEARN

Not only are the diploma and all associated examination costs free, you will earn a stipend and work as an assistant teacher at Shikha Academy. You will also be eligible for a placement opportunity at Shikha Academy after you complete your diploma.

CAMBRIDGE CERTIFICATION

You will obtain the prestigious Cambridge International Diploma in Teaching and Learning (CIDTL) that elevates future placement opportunities across the best quality national and international schools.

 

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

DURATION: 2 years

APPLICATION DEADLINES:

Winter Session: December 5th, 2024

Monsoon Session: June 1st, 2025

START DATES:

Winter Session: January 5th, 2025

Monsoon Session: July 1st, 2025

LOCATION: Shikha Academy, Borivali, Mumbai

LEARNING PEDAGOGY: Blend of theoretical learning and practical application. 20 self paced online modules, guided learning, peer collaboration, and classroom practice, portfolio development.

TIME COMMITMENT: Full time 2 year engagement at Shikha Academy including approximately 10 hours of coursework per week

ELIGIBILITY: Commitment, Passion, Growth Mindset, Completion of Grade 12

COST: Free. In fact, you are paid a monthly stipend across the two year program.

Tell me more about Shikha Academy?

Shikha Academy is an experimental, model school that aims to radically improve the quality of the education system. Students belong to financially under-resourced backgrounds. Our school follows a blend of the Cambridge Board and our in-house designed curriculum through K-12. Teachers at Shikha experiment with the latest educational technologies and researched backed pedagogy which ensure that students learn meaningfully, attain mastery and can apply their learning to the real world. Can I be employed while pursuing the diploma?

The diploma is a full time, two year program. You will work as an assistant teacher at Shikha Academy while you pursue the diploma and will be paid a stipend. You cannot be employed elsewhere for the duration of the course.

How much does the program cost?

The program cost is free! You will be paid a stipend of Rs. 20,000 per month. All learning and Cambridge examination costs will be paid by Shikha Institute.

The Shikha ecosystem is funded exclusively through philanthropy, and this allows us to offer you this program without a fee.

 

How long is the program?

The program will run from September 2024 to June 2026. Program hours will be 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Public and school holidays will be given.

Am I eligible for this program?

As long as you have completed 10+2, you are eligible for this program. We are looking for passionate, hard working and driven teachers who are looking to make an impact on education in India.

What is the application process?

Please complete the application form on this page by July 30th, 2024. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview and a tour of the campus as part of the selection process.
